Project Description
Alice Deal Junior High School was constructed in 1930 by the National Construction Company to relieve congestion at the E.V. Browne School located in Chevy Chase. In 1984, it was voted as one of the top two hundred outstanding schools in the country. The school was named in honor of educator Alice Deal (December 16, 1877—March 31, 1928) who taught mathematics at McKinley Manual Training School in DC, served as principal of Columbia Junior High School, and was considered a pioneer in the junior high school movement. In the summer of 2010, UBER performed a complete exterior renovation including point-up, masonry replacement, limestone restoration and general repair work.
